Why Mentoring Works for Mentors?
People remember:
30% of what they see
50% of what they see + hear
70% of what they discuss
80% of what they experience
95% of what they teach or share
This is why mentors grow as much as mentees
Executive Summary
The Mentor Mindset Movement by School for the Heart is a values-driven, non-prescriptive, and pro bono national mentoring initiative designed to strengthen India’s youth ecosystem by cultivating a new generation of mentors rooted in courage, compassion, competence, and character साहस. करुणा. कौशल. चरित्र. Unlike instructional or tutoring-based models, our approach equips mentors to act as enablers—guides who create psychologically safe, inquiry-based spaces where young people can explore, reflect, and grow. Mentors trained through our webinars and workshops do not teach a fixed curriculum; instead, they help mentees spark curiosity, navigate choices, build confidence, and access exposure that their existing environments may not yet provide.
This movement is anchored in the spirit of seva and voluntarism. All mentors participate pro bono, motivated by purpose, contribution, and social impact rather than transactional incentives. Our training—delivered through scalable, research-backed modules—prepares mentors to complement, not replace, the roles of teachers, parents, or organizational staff. Mentors do not act as paid coaches or instructors; they serve as catalysts who strengthen the social fabric of institutions by nurturing self-belief, clarity, and agency in youth.
The Mentor Mindset Movement is positioned as a national capability-building solution that can operate at scale through prospective partnerships with government bodies, corporates, educational ecosystems, and civil society organizations. As a not-for-profit initiative, School for the Heart seeks support from these stakeholders to cover program delivery costs while maintaining the voluntary, values-first ethos at the core of our design.
Our goal is simple yet transformative:
To build a nationwide network of emotionally intelligent, purpose-driven mentors who elevate India’s youth—not by instruction, but through presence, inquiry, and heart-centered guidance.
